United Financial Credit Union would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible members and staff for their generosity during our recent Food Drive that we recently ran. Due to your generosity several local families and individuals have food in their cupboards.
One of United Financials’ core values is “Building Relationships”, and one way is getting out into our communities and supporting the credit union motto of “People Helping People”. We felt that this food drive was a great way to give back to the community. Over 250 non-perishable food items, along with monetary donations were collected in a short time span, which were all donated to Hidden Harvest, who then distributed them to local agencies serving area families and individuals in need. Hidden Harvest’s mission is to alleviate hunger and end food waste in the Great Lakes Bay Region by providing a safe and coordinated system of rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to feed people in need. Their motto is “Putting good food to good use.”
