Fresh Start Checking Account
Fresh Start Checking is for members looking to rebuild or reestablish positive checking account history. If you’ve been denied a checking account at another financial institution, Fresh Start Checking may be for you.
Fresh Start Checking Account includes:

- Financial Education
- Low monthly fee
- After 6 months, members can apply to convert to a our basic Checking Account or one of our Reward Checking Accounts
Low Monthly Fee
There will be a $5.00 monthly fee assessed with the Fresh Start Checking Account.
Financial Education
During the 6 months, you need to complete the CheckRight program which focuses on the responsible management of a checking account. This is a requirement in order to apply for a standard checking account.
~ You will need to create an account with GreenPath Learning Lab+
~ Once you create an account make sure to select United Financial Credit Union as your Partner Credit Union
~ Then select the course CheckRight, complete the course.
~ Once completed make sure to send us a copy of the certificate

No Per Check Charges
Unlike some institutions that allow so many free and then start charging per-check over a certain number, United Financial lets you write as few or as many and it doesn’t matter.
Free Monthly Statement
There is no monthly statement-processing fee. We will send you a statement of your Checking account free every month.
Debit/ATM Card Access
Your Checking account and Debit Card go hand in hand. In fact, you will need a United Financial Checking account in order to use the Debit Card for debit transactions. Click Here to OPT IN for Overdraft Services
Balance Your Account with United Financial Virtual Branch Online Banking
United Financial Virtual Branch and U.S.24 Telephone Teller will give you the status of your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can transfer funds between accounts to cover checks or debits, monitor recent activity, and even reorder checks online. It’s a great compliment to your United Financial checking account!
